Humanitarian aid to people impacted by armed conflicts

Millions of people are suffering from the consequences of armed conflicts, with the war in Ukraine only the latest, tragic example. The Greta Thunberg Foundation is donating SEK 1,000,000 (~EUR 93,000) to four leading international organisations working in this field.

The SEK 1,000,000 donation will go to four different organisations working to support people suffering the consequences of armed conflict: UNICEF, UNHCR (The UN Refugee Agency), The Save the Children Fund and The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Each organisation will receive SEK 250,000.

The war in Ukraine is the latest, tragic example of the devastating humanitarian consequences of armed conflicts. Other countries recently affected include Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, the Central African Republic and South Sudan. Civilians, and especially children, suffer the worst effects of these conflicts and the UNHCR estimates that more than 100 million people globally are currently displaced from their homes.

The Greta Thunberg Foundation works to support sustainability from a holistic perspective, promoting ecological, climatic and social sustainability. Safeguarding human rights for everyone is the basis for a sustainable and just society across the world.
